Lunch Menu April to October 2017

The cost of a two course meal is £2.15 per day – £10.75 per week. Notification to the school office stating which days in a week children will be having a school meal is important to ensure parents are charged correctly for meals taken. This notification should be in advance, including any changes to this during each term. Payments can be made weekly or half termly. Weekly payment must be made in advance on the first day of the week. Please ensure the money is sent in a sealed envelope marked with your child’s name and an explanation as to what the money is for (recycled envelopes welcomed). Payments can also be made in advance on a half-termly basis. Cheques should be made payable to Compton Primary School and paid promptly on receipt of a bill from the school office.

If you feel that your child may be entitled to a free school meal please contact the Admin Officer who will be pleased to help you.

Alternatively, children may bring a packed lunch. This should be packed in a box with the child’s name clearly marked. We have achieved healthy schools stutus and ask you to consider this when packing your child’s lunchbox. Glass bottles, fizzy drinks and sweets are not permitted.

Key Stage One pupils do not require a snack for mid morning break as the school participates in a fruit and vegetable scheme which provides each child in Classes 1 and 2 (Ladybirds and Hedgehogs) with a healthy snack daily. Reception children also benefit from a scheme to provide free milk until they join Class 2 (Hedgehogs).

Key Stage Two children are able to purchase a healthy snack from the tuck shop operated by the school cook

Children are asked not to bring any food item to school which contains nuts. This is to safeguard a number of pupils in school who are allergic to nuts and who could suffer an anaphylactic reaction if in the vicinity of nut products.

Menus are provided in advance showing the choice of lunch available each day on a three weekly rotating basis. The menus are also changed twice a year from April until October half term and then a new menu until the following March. Children can choose to have lunches either weekly or on particular days of the week by prior arrangement with the office. If you wish to change from school lunches to a packed lunch please speak to the school office as some notice is required.

All children are also asked to bring a filled labelled water bottle to school each day.
