Introducing the CSA
Compton Primary School Parents Teachers and Friends Association (CSA) is an active parent / teacher association. If you have a child attending the school then you are automatically a member of the CSA and can get involved.
In 2024, the CSA changed from a home school association to a Parent, Teacher and Friends association to enable us to strengthen ties in the community and with our alumni, while also broadening our fundraising potential.
The CSA aims to support the school by developing and holding fundraising events and encouraging parents and families to enjoy the social aspects of being part of the school community.
The CSA plays an important role in funding extra-curricular enrichment activities for pupils, supporting improvements within the school and fundraising for curricular-based activities, resources and events.
Our flagship event is the Compton 10k and Fete in May each year. We also organise events throughout the year including school discos, Christmas activities, cake sales, quiz nights and supporting the school with refreshments at parent events.
Parents tell us that their membership of the CSA helps them to get to know each other, building relationships across the parent, teacher and broader school community. As the school grows, this community supports the introduction of new pupils and their families, creating a wonderfully warm, welcoming and inclusive environment that builds bonds and helps pupils thrive.
The committee and the events can only run, though, with the generosity that people show in volunteering their time, commitment and contributions. We would love to have more parents actively involved, offering ideas and helping at events.
We recognise, however, that it is not possible for everyone to commit to regular volunteering. If you would prefer to offer a financial contribution as an alternative, we have facilities to accept one-off and regular donations. These contributions make a meaningful difference to our ability to continue the CSA’s work with the school, enabling us to do more for the pupils, staff and the broader school community.
While parents/carers are automatically enrolled as members of the CSA if their children are current pupils at the school, we are similarly enormously proud of those who wish to continue their relationship with the school as part of our alumni group.
